How Many People Are Needed to Conduct a PedFACTS Course?
Each PedFACTS Course requires one approved PedFACTS Instructor.
PedFACTS requires that the instructor-to-participant ratio not exceed 1:18 for the large group activities and 1:10 for the small group activities. Experienced instructors have found that utilizing even smaller ratios-especially during small group and hands-on activities-may enhance the educational experience.
In the PedFACTS Course, instructor-led presentations and discussion are considered large group activities while hands-on activities and teamwork tasks are considered small group activities. During the small group activity rotations, the instructor(s) should assist in the First Aid for a Blocked Airway and Rescue Breathing Skill Station. The other two small group activity rotations are designed to be self-directed.
